Several students made people with craft sticks. I think they are adorable!

My students love working with blocks, but many are sad when it comes time to dismantle their structures. I frequently take photos so they can show them to their parents. Here are some of the recent creations:

 Some second grade artists created these paper figures. I am fascinated by the way some artists consistently work in 3d,  while others prefer 2d.

This piece was created over several weeks. I enjoyed seeing the artist experiment with different techniques. He was determined to make it stand on its own. 

Hot air balloon

"I was just drawing, and then I noticed it looked like the top part of a hot air balloon. So I made this basket part and now I'm going to get string and tie it on."
